Thank you so much for taking part in the Chelsea Fringe Festival 2019. The Fringe is all about you and what you bring to the events – and there’s such delight in all of the pictures you send us.

We hope you had as much fun as we did. We think it was a great festival once again, with good attendance rates overall and coverage on BBC Radio London, in Time Out and various other magazines, newspapers and websites.

Keep sending your pictures, tweets and videos to our twitter, facebook and instagram accounts.

Dates for 2020 are 16th to 24th May

We’re now looking forward to the Chelsea Fringe 2020, which runs from 16th May to 24th May, intensifying the festival buzz into a nine-day burst of excitement!

That’s two weekends and everything in between; including a few days’ overlap with the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

It would be fantastic to have you with us during this unique festival in 2020, whether it’s your first time or your 9th! See a a selection of last year’s stories here. And come and mingle with fellow fringers at our General Meeting.

Event registration will be open soon, and there’ll be an early-bird registration rate until the end of March. That’s also the deadline if you want to be included on our fantastic printed map that will be distributed across London.

In the meantime, do get in touch and send us an email to info@chelseafringe.com with as many details as possible about your plans for 2020. We’ll reply, with questions and suggestions if necessary.   Once your idea gets the Fringe thumbs-up, we’ll give you the 2020 password to register online.

The Chelsea Fringe has set the date for 2020, its ninth year, and is now open for submissions.

The festival runs from 16th to 24th May: that’s nine days including two weekends to fill with exciting gardening projects and events.

The 2019 Fringe was a huge success once again, with some 200 community gardening activities, garden/art installations and happenings, walks, talks, food events, open days, exhibitions and performances across London and beyond. See a selection of last year’s stories here

There was excellent coverage in the national media – newspapers, magazines, radio and television. We also maintained our successful broadcast partnership with BBC Radio London (the Robert Elms show), which is to continue in 2020.

At this stage we are inviting individuals and organisations, first-timers and Fringe veterans, to register their interest and to discuss what they might like to do. Please get in touch with us via email (info@chelseafringe.com) if you would like to be involved and do forward this on to anyone else who you think might be interested. And come and mingle with fellow fringers at our General Meeting – more details here.

The Chelsea Fringe is volunteer-run and unfunded, operating as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company [CIC].

Registration Opens for Chelsea Fringe Festival 2020

This year the Fringe (May 16-24) is — of course — going virtual.

Once again, in this our 9th year as a festival, we are inviting community gardeners, artists, activists and anyone with an interest in gardens, plants and outdoor space to get involved and to do something fun and positive.

There’s always been an online category in the Fringe — it’s just that this year everything will be in it. We are hoping creative gardeners will be able to come up with quirky ideas in the true Fringe spirit, whether that’s a workshop conducted via Zoom, an online art exhibition, or a garden-based virtual community event.

In line with these straitened times, registration is at a flat £10, with a £1 pay-what-you-can rate for those really feeling the pinch at the moment. The Fringe is volunteer-run and not-for-profit, and we don’t want anyone to feel they can’t participate for financial reasons.

So please do go and check out our (new!) website or just email us direct with your idea at: info@chelseafringe.com
